selected projects: design for activations & installations
coca-cola: be active pavilion at the sochi 2014 WINTER olympics
CJD was commissioned by Ignition and Coca-Cola to develop concepts for several consumer experiences leading up to the Sochi 2014 Olympics. Working directly with the event marketing team in Russia, CJD provided concept visuals for both of the larger build-outs installed at the Sochi Olympic Park, as well as smaller mobile activations and installations around the city.
For the largest build-out, named BE ACTIVE, CJD led exterior and interior design for the entire project from conception to installation. This included providing detailed layout and fabrication drawings, ongoing design management and onsite art direction.
Housed within two inflatable dome structures, the BE ACTIVE experience was designed to tour around Russia for multiple years, with its first stop at The Sochi 2014 Olympic Park, where it served as Coca-Cola’s consumer brand pavilion.
The first half of the interior experience was designed to showcase the history of Coca-Cola, and the brand’s ongoing commitment to supporting athletes and sporting events through the world, including the Olympics. The second half of the experience was designed to promote active healthy living through sport, for consumers, again tying-in to Coca-Cola’s commitment to athletics.
The interior elements incorporated a massive amount of graphic and video content. As the lead designer, CJD collaborated with several outside agencies who each contributed smaller pieces of content which were ultimately woven in to the big-picture.

georgia power: customer resource center
CJD partnered with Ignition to lead design for this permanent installation at Georgia Power’s Customer Resource Center in Atlanta. Along with a larger design team of architects and engineers, CJD helped to create an interactive experience where customers can gain valuable knowledge about electric resources for both residential and commercial applications.
The resource center showcases many eco-friendly electric alternatives for consumer transportation, residential heating and cooling as well as kitchen appliances. Commercial customers can review innovations in electric equipment for industrial manufacturing, energy efficient lighting, plus heating and cooling. Food service industry clients can even see first-hand cooking demonstrations in a fully functional all-electric commercial kitchen.
For this project, CJD created interior design elevations, layouts and fabrication drawings. Additionally, CJD helped with production management, technical integration and budgeting.

facebook: innovation labs
Working with the design team at Good Sense and Company, CJD led development for both temporary and permanent installations of Facebook’s Innovation Lab all over the world throughout 2015 and 2016. The labs are comprised of several interactive displays that feature the company’s many achievements in developing new technology around the globe. Several of the displays were surrounded with geometric “pod” elements that created a sense of division from the rest of the room.
Permanent installations of the lab were completed at Facebook MPK Headquarters in California and the European office in Dublin, Ireland. Temporary installations were built at the U.N. Headquarters in NYC and Geneva, the Facebook offices in NYC, and additional locations in London, Berlin, Dublin and Davos. The design process included interfacing with multiple architects and engineers that ensured code compliance in all cities.
